BWM Appoints Hugh Nairn MD in Melbourne and Darrell Tiemens as planning director in Sydney

Picture 206.pngChief executive of Belgiovane Williams Mackay, Paul Williams, has announced the appointment of Hugh Nairn (pictured) as managing director of their Melbourne office.  BWM Melbourne opened in April 2008, following the agency’s appointment on Simplot brands Birds Eye, Edgell and I&J.

Nairn’s previous roles have included MD of Belong, Director at Clemenger BBDO and business head at AC Nielsen, Southern Africa and Asia Pacific.  He was also a former general manager at DDB/Rapp Collins. He has 20 years experience in FMCG, Financial Services, pharmacy, liquor, travel and Government services.

Tony Rowlinson, who helped establish BWM in Melbourne, will remaininvolved in the business as director, and will continue to contributein his business development role.

Highly awarded creative director, Rocky Ranallo, ex-Clemenger and TheCampaign Palace, will continue in his role alongside Nairn and thelocal team.

Additionally Jamie Mackay, executive planning director, released newsof the appointment of Darrell Tiemens as planning director based in theSydney office, effective July 1.

Tiemens, whose background most recently includes Euro RSCG and GeorgePatterson Y&R Sydney will be one of three BWM planning directorswho will split strategic planning roles across all the agency’s clients.

In establishing the new planning structure, Mackay described the”exhaustive four months executive search for Australia’s bestplanners.”  He praised Tiemens’s passion and demonstrated ability as acreative thought leader and believes his wide experience will becomplementary to BWM Challenger Brand philosophy.
