Hollywood A-lister Mark Wahlberg has lent his cheeky laugh to Ladbroke’s latest new campaign via Thinkerbell.
In the TVC, Wahlberg, who is sitting on the back of a golf cart, stares deep into the lens whilst holding up a smartphone that says ‘Ladbroke It’. As the anticipation builds, a big explosion sets off followed by a cheeky Wahlberg laugh.
More no doubt to follow….

Please explain.
For this?
Adding a celebrity doesn’t make it an idea
Think Campaign Brief’s Australian Agency of the year, The Special Group, would like a word with you on that.
Did I mention that they are Campaign Brief’s Australian Agency of The Year? Because if I didn’t then I’d like to let you know that they’re Campaign Brief’s Australian Agency of The Year ok?
Patrick Stewart, Mark Hamill, Mike Meyers, Dana Carvey and Sacha Baron Cohen were in their work but that doesn’t mean they had no idea ok. Pfft
I mean they are Campaign Brief’s Australian Agency of The Year after all right? Right? I’m sure it’s a total reflection of the great idea-filled work they’ve been making.
Why advertising agencies then? Just pour your money into a celebrity and job then? Easy formula. Agencies that talk about ‘ideas’ will die. PR agencies will thrive.
Smart agencies use celebrities when relevant to an actual idea, not for the sake of it.
UberEats was built on a celebrity platform not an actual idea. Very expensive platform to sustain but effective in pop culture.
Sasha perfect example. All the budget went into getting him but the creative is ordinary. Not the type of work any creative will be receiving back slaps for.
As for CB agencies of the year, good on Special. I’m sure it had more to do with their other than the Uber stuff.
Also think you might be jumping the gun here on this Ladbrokes ad. Hard to know from the teaser what this campaign is about.
Cool
Just what the world is waiting for right now. A big gambling ad.
It’s a teaser and the video says teaser..
Gotta feel sorry for the agency here…the full spot has more explosions but still no idea. Smells like a client stitch-up to me.
