Blobfish International announces fundraising pledge for Great Barrier Reef Foundation

Blobfish International, one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest sampling networks, has today announced its financial support for the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, helping to raise funds for coral reef conservation.

 

From this month, Blobfish has pledged to donate 1% of all its campaign profits, which will equate to thousands of dollars, to the Foundation, as part of its commitment to giving back to the community.

Founded in 1999, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation is a collaborative organisation dedicated to finding and growing the best solutions to restore Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Since its inception, the Foundation has broadened its work, now focusing on creating a future for coral reefs in Australia and the Pacific. The Foundation’s efforts are dedicated to raising funds and designing real-world, scalable conservation programs that help restore coral reefs and coastal habitats and support them to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Says Nicolas Cann, founder and CEO, Blobfish International: “As an avid surfer, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation is an organisation that’s very close to my heart. I’ve always had a strong connection to the ocean and a deep understanding of the need for marine conservation. The Great Barrier Reef is one of Australia’s national treasures – it’s the largest living structure on earth, and provides a critical habitat for unique marine life.

“Many of our team has had incredible experiences with ocean creatures – from swimming with turtles to surfing next to dolphins – and it’s made us even more aware of how important habitat protection is for their survival. Plus, given we’ve got ‘fish’ in our business name, this partnership is a no-brainer! This support represents a significant contribution from Blobfish – we are a small business with a big heart and we’re proud to be able to make an impact, not only for our agency but for our clients.”

Blobfish International is a large-scale sampling and activations offering, working with companies across a range of sectors, including food delivery (Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat), Airbnb and hotels, ride share vehicles (Uber and Ola), gyms, Pilates, and yoga studios, for brand sampling opportunities.
