Bestads Best TV/Film of the Week: Chanel’s Metiers d’Art 2026 ‘Metiers d’Art 2026 Show’

Each week Bestads showcases standout global advertising work as reviewed by a top international creative director or team. This week’s best film is Chanel’s Metiers d’Art 2026 ‘Metiers d’Art 2026 Show’.

The film was selected by this week’s guest judge Jordan Doucette, Chief Creative Officer at McCann Canada.

“I do! I do! I do!” says Doucette. “I just found this spot so romantic and beautiful while also being quirky and wonderfully weird. I remember seeing it as a real person on my couch, not through the lens of my advertising life and I just really enjoyed it. And I was looking forward to seeing it again. And shared it with my daughter.

“It’s a feast for the eyes and the emotions. The little details are so fun, my favourite is her walking up to the people and I wish the world had escalators that took us out of our subway cars. I loved the music and the editing and I got all the feels waiting for her to come up the stairs. I just love love, and this piece of film.”

Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2026 show, designed by Matthieu Blazy and set in New York City, was previewed with a magical, filmic short directed by Michel Gondry through Partizan, starring Margaret Qualley & A$AP Rocky, capturing city life through the subway. The collection itself, presented December 2nd, 2025, celebrated New York’s energy with bold animal prints, tweed, vibrant colors, and tributes to Gabrielle Chanel’s era, showcasing incredible craftsmanship from Chanel’s artisans in a blend of pop culture and haute couture.
