Awarded director Justin Kurzel joins Revolver

Justin_Kurzel.jpgRevolver has announced that director Justin Kurzel has just joined the roster. A graduate of the illustrious NIDA Design course, he began his career as a production designer for some of the most revered theatre production companies in Australia.

In 2004, he turned to film, directing his first short (Blue Tongue), which was accepted into the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.

Since this time, Kurzel has directed countless music videos (for the likes of The Vines, Sleepy Jackson and The Mess Hall), as well as commercials for a huge range of international clients.

His work for WWF Earth Hour received major attention at the Cannes International Advertising Festival in 2007, winning the Titanium Lion – while his TVC for the British Council collected a Bronze.

His Dare campaign picked up a Bronze at Cannes in 2009 and was alsolisted in Campaign Brief’s Top 30 TVC’s of the decade. His recentcampaign for Tooheys took out three Bronze awards at Cannes in 2010.

Kurzel has just completed his debut feature, Snowtown, which was filmedin South Australia in August 2010 and is being produced by Warp Films(This Is England, 4 Lions). Snowtown will premiere at the Adelaide FilmFestival in February 2011.
