Australian mobile rewards first for Hungry Jack’s fast food app via Clemenger BBDO Sydney
Hungry Jack’s continues to push digital boundaries with its launch of the fast food sector’s first integrated mobile rewards program in a new campaign from Clemenger BBDO Sydney.
Hungry Jack’s national marketing director, Jim Wilson, said the app was the industry’s most interactive and savvy ever to be launched in Australia.
Says Wilson: “The iPhone app is designed to engage, empower and reward customers and drive loyalty through its unique ‘Shake & Win’ feature.”
Users can unlock freebies and discounts with a shake of their phone within a one kilometre radius of a Hungry Jack’s store and have a 20 minute window to redeem their prize.
Says Wilson: “We are the first fast food chain to integrate social media within an app that rewards customers with a sophisticated and friendly mobile experience. All users who simply ‘check-in’ via Facebook are guaranteed to win one of 200,000 prizes from freebies to discounted products and buy one get one free deals.
“The fast food industry has left this space wide open. It’s changing the way we market our business and satisfy consumer demand and is an important channel for interacting with customers one-on-one.
“There are 10 million smartphones in this country with 70 per cent of Australians using apps on a daily basis. This presents a great opportunity for our brand. The app is part of our long term digital strategy and we spent time getting the proposition right. Social media is the gateway for the shared experience, and the decision to incorporate Facebook will allow the brand to further engage with fans, and reward them for doing so.”
The app also features a store locator and the first nutritional calculator from a fast food restaurant, empowering consumers to make informed dietary decisions.
Says Wilson: “The nutritional calculator offers unprecedented access to Hungry Jack’s nutritional information, where users can select multiple menu items and instantly calculate a meal’s nutritional values.”
Hungry Jack’s has recently installed free Wi-Fi in over 300 restaurants nationwide, and achieved record breaking success with Scoopon, with over 675,000 Whopper vouchers downloaded in under 48 hours.
The Hungry Jack’s iPhone app is free through Apple’s App Store and available for download from today 18 May. Future consideration will be given to extending the app to other mobile operating systems including Android and Windows.
