Australia Post introduces Nick the Intern this Christmas in new campaign via The Monkeys
Australia Post has taken on a new intern across its business who looks ever so familiar in a new campaign via The Monkeys, part of Accenture Song.
In The Monkeys’ fifth year of Australia Post Christmas commercials, the campaign follows a curious Santa Claus as he goes undercover as an intern at Australia Post to work out how they go about delivering gifts at Christmas time. Paired up with postie Alex, Nick discovers exactly how Australia Post does it, with no magic needed.
Says Catriona Noble, EGM, retail, brand and marketing, Australia Post: “Australia Post is proud to deliver Australians their Christmas presents each year, but whilst Santa has reindeer and sleighs, we’re slightly more 2024 with our App, Parcel Lockers and electric powered fleet, and this campaign juxtaposes those two contrasting worlds in a really charming and fun way.”
Says Ant Keogh, chief creative officer, The Monkeys: “Australia Post and Santa Claus go together like milk and cookies. They both work hard to deliver joy at Christmas time, and both have a penchant for the colour red. This year’s campaign celebrates them both in a way that’s fun and entertaining.”
The new campaign, directed by Tony Rogers from Guilty has launched nationally across television, in-store, online, radio and social.

So fresh and so clean, clean.
So far this is the best Aussie Christmas spot. At least feels fresh.
So crook, so funny. How good. Congrats to all involved. His accent will gladly haunt my dreams.
Cosi cosi.
Really? Santa’s warehouse is ‘fresh’? Joysuss
Not sure what’s more surprising.
That this was actually funny or that this is by Australia Post.
Best at sorting, delivering and holding at the store.
As long as Santa is on an unpaid internship and not secretly on a 200k salary.
Big budget, big yawn
I would guess small budget based on how it looks
… it all makes sense, interns deliver everything for AusPost… I finally understand why they are so monumentally useless.
Nice work Aus Post and The Monkey’s, one of the better Christmas ads this year. Light, playful and fun. well done.
End gag made me giggle.
More interest ($$$$) in advertising and nothing for the workers at the coal face , best if it was privatised for workers and the public. So much time and money wasted by the company sell it now !!!!
So do you want to sell it or privatise it? They’re kind of exact opposites
Good stuff
Smaller budget but better creative than the other stuff that’s out. Nice talent too.
A xmas ad that isn’t just a soppy story. Thank you.
The big difference is that this is a product ad,it’s actually selling a service. All the others are Christmas puffery. What retail CMO’s think is a brand ad.
It’s not.In fact it’s a waste of money.
Sell me something Woolies and Coles.
Aust post should maybe spend more attention to parcel delivery as I am sure I will receive my presents from Santa before I see my express post !!
Lovely stuff!
Is the girl in the ad in home and away
…why is Nick so creepy?
I tend to only remember ads that make me laugh. Bravo. I’ll be expecting my posty to yell “FLYYY” for years to come.
Skipped through and saw exactly what I’ve seen for years. Unfortunately the cheap low-fi aussie dress ups aesthetic no longer does much for anyone.
Love the new Christmas commercial.
Thought this was another eBay ad. Cute though.
I love this ad
Best one made in years
Congratulations
I absolutely love this ad campaign. Everything is so perfect & cute. I’m especially impressed with all the actors in it – they all have the exact right expressions etc throughout. I actually enjoy watching them which is a first for me
Dreadful clumsy ad, the girl’s words don’t even synchronise with her mouth – I thought it was dubbed from a foreign import.
Annoying as hell, creepy, and meanwhile we have actual AusPost workers grinding under the pump and copping abuse at their most busiest time of the year. But yeah let’s just resort to the most basic trope of comedy; putting an unfamiliar person into a new situation. It’s FUNNY because he’s SANTA bit he’s at a sorting facility, get it??
This ad comes on thrice per break when all I want to do is watch Survivor. I can’t imagine those on the lower rungs at Australia Post are happy with this representation. It’s all very worrying
Love the ads very much. Still sending friends and family links to watch them even though Christmas is past. Thanks Australia Post.
