Aussie expat Nick Bishop departs the president and CEO role at DDB West, Los Angeles

Screen shot 2012-07-13 at 10.34.47 AM.jpgAussie expat Nick Bishop has parted ways with DDB West, where he has been president and CEO since 2007, together with co-chief creative officer Erik Moe.

According to a DDB US spokesperson: “We are greatly appreciative of their contributions to DDB over the past few years, and wish them the best in their next endeavors. The LA and San Francisco offices operate jointly as DDB West, and as such, will report into DDB West President Mary Moudry and Chief Creative Officer Lisa Bennett. No further personnel changes are planned.”

Bishop joined DDB in 2007. He has broad experience in all aspects of the communications business–as an agency executive, a client and a consultant. He has lived and worked in his native Australia, as well as in London, Madrid, Amsterdam, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Bishop, who was CEO of McCann Sydney from 1997 to 1999, began his career as a media planner at Y&R Adelaide in 1983 before moving to Y&R Sydney as national media manager from1985 to 1988. He then went on to McCann-Erickson where he worked for 15 years, holding various senior-level positions, including President of Anderson & Lembke Worldwide; CEO of McCann/A&L San Francisco; CEO of McCann Sydney; Chairman and CEO of McCann Amsterdam; and Managing Director of Universal McCann Spain.

Prior to joining DDB, Bishop was the Executive Vice President, Director of Global Accounts, at Grey/G2 Worldwide in New York. On the client side, he was Vice President of Consumer Connections at the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, with global responsibility for advertising, brand management and integrated communications. He was also a founding partner of The O Partnership, a consultancy with offices in California and Paris.
