Aussie expat art director Dave Tomkins trades Mother London for Johannes Leonardo New York
Aussie expat and Mother London alum Dave Tomkins has crossed the Atlantic to join New York creative agency Johannes Leonardo as art director, effective immediately.
Originally hailing from Australia, Tomkins brings fresh international creative viewpoints to the agency, helping to support creative for the agency’s growing roster of blue-chip brands including Coca-Cola and Google. He reports directly to Johannes Leonardo co-founders Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico (also an Australian native).
Tomkins launched his career at Clemenger BBDO Sydney, and then joined Happy Soldiers. Within a year at the latter, he had co-created six new campaigns, winning a Silver Clio, a Bronze Lion, a Gold Lion and a Titanium shortlist honor for the Zuji ‘Beans’ campaign. He scored a gig at Mother London in June 2009.

Nice one Paki
Seriously.
Why would you leave Mother London for JL in NY.
Mother is independent and brave and original most of the time.
Leonardo is a WPP shop that pretends to be hot except for the work and basically exists on Google sloppy seconds.
Granted NY is a cooler city.
Top bloke with a good head. r
Anonymous is making Puffy mad…
Top work Dravid.
Getting struck by lightning has done you the world of good.
Well, 11:50AM, a guy much closer to the action clearly disagrees with you.
It sucks to be that guy! That Zuji beans idea is an inspired piece of genius. And personally I’d trade New York for London any day. Mother fine but you’re just another guy in their. Going to JL is definitely a better move. You get to be part of something special. And it will be special. Knowing Leo personally, the one thing I know is that the guy is irrepressible. This is a great move.
Nice one Dave!
Weather’s rubbish here anyway.
Good things are yet to come.
