ATEED and Heart of the City launches new TV spot for Auckland Tourism via Colenso BBDO
ATEED, Heart of the City and Colenso BBDO have collaborated to launch a domestic tourism campaign portraying Auckland as an event in itself; a place full of energy, the unknown and a never-ending source of entertainment. A city where you never know what will happen when the lights go down. A city where the show never stops.
The campaign kicked off locally in Auckland late last year – with ‘AKL: The Show Never Shops’ street posters, bus-backs and signage spread over the city – while the nation-wide launch, complete with a shiny new TVC, launched on Sunday evening.
Says Nick Garrett, managing director of Colenso BBDO: “It means a lot to everyone at the agency to work on this brief because it is so important to the city we live in. NZ’s largest city has a sense of purpose and one that can make us all feel good about this special place. It has been a great opportunity to continue to work with our partners at Heart of the City and to start a new relationship with ATEED and we believe the idea of ‘The Show Never Stops’ will last the test of time.”
Says Nick Worthington, creative chairman at Colenso BBDO: “Auckland is an extraordinary place, there is nowhere else quite like it in the world. Sure NYC can smoke us on gritty urban cool, and London, Paris and Berlin can humble us with history and culture, but Auckland has things that no other city does, a vibrant urban playground with raw natural beauty, it’s quite simply impossible to feel jaded here because your personal antidote or perfect fix is never far away, and like all great cities, in Auckland, the show never stops.”
ATEED general manager destination & marketing Rachael Carroll says the campaign focuses on celebrating that Auckland is a vibrant and exciting region jam packed with great experiences.
Says Carroll: “There’s always a great show to see, but Auckland itself is a show in its own right. Whether you’re kayaking on the harbour, watching a hit musical at The Civic, or walking in the Waitakere Ranges – Auckland is truly a show that never stops.
“This is the beginning of a long-term campaign partnership with Heart of the City. We both have the same aims – to attract new visitors to Auckland and encourage those visiting to stay longer and spend more. This campaign provides Auckland with a consistent message domestically and is a long-term vision to tell the story and develop the brand of Auckland.”
