Aruga celebrates eight years with Melbourne expansion, new talent and clients

Independent PR, marketing and communications agency Aruga marked its eighth birthday by unwrapping a swag of milestones: from establishing a permanent Melbourne presence to welcoming new creative talent and partnering with a raft of exciting clients, both new and returning.

The Brisbane-born agency has expanded its presence south, opening a Melbourne office in the collaborative and community-based space at The Common.

Co-Founder Donna Kramer (above left) says the move was a natural evolution for Aruga as it enters its ninth year: “Eight years on, we’re proud to see Aruga continue to evolve in bold and strategic ways, including expanding our footprint to Melbourne.

“Establishing a physical presence in Victoria has already unlocked new opportunities and deeper partnerships with clients such as Stage Schools Australia and Affordable Art Fair and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Aruga.”

As brands continue to seek smart, social-first content, Aruga has expanded its offering to include dedicated content creation, helping clients with performance-led storytelling across platforms.

As part of this evolution, Aruga has welcomed its first dedicated Content Creator, Ben Dutton. With a skill set spanning filming, photography, editing and copywriting, Dutton enhances Aruga’s campaigns with bold, low-fi content that delivers a big impact.

Co-Founder Adam Brunes (above right) says Dutton’s appointment reflects Aruga’s continued investment in Aruga’s transformation from a PR agency to an integrated marketing communications agency that provides wholistic marketing solutions to clients: “Performance-led content doesn’t have to be complicated, it needs to be clever, quick and connected to culture.

“We’re building content solutions that are plug-and-play – scalable, strategic and made to help brands stand out in the scroll.”

Adding content creation in house has fuelled Aruga’s partnership with City Parklands Services, delivering standout social content for its premium culinary festival, Providore Park.

Aruga’s creative momentum continues this year with a growing client portfolio, including craft beer trailblazers BrewDog; master gin distillers BY.ARTISANS; social wellness hub Soak Bathhouse; leading holiday provider Tasman Holiday Parks; modern Italian and steak restaurant The 203; and newly relaunched Brisbane dining destination The Summit Restaurant & Bar by hospitality giant Mantle Group.

Aruga is also proud to continue its long-standing partnerships, welcoming back returning clients including the internationally renowned Affordable Art Fair, Brisbane’s favourite fun run, The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane, and independent arts festival Wynnum Fringe.

Says Kramer: “There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing clients return year after year or trusting us with new challenges. It speaks volumes about the partnerships we’ve nurtured and the results we continue to deliver.

“Whether it’s shining a spotlight on Brisbane’s incredible arts and events or helping brands connect with audiences in fresh ways, we’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us and excited for what’s ahead.”
