APG Q&A with planning legend Jon Steel
The Account Planning Group (APG) will be holding its creative forum, Ideas Exchange, on Thursday June 17, featuring acclaimed planning expert and author Jon Steel. Sydney’s Supper Club will be the stage for an inspiring, informal and interactive session seeing Steel sharing insights on the future of planning, with a particular focus on the role of digital strategy and media. The format will be a Question and Answer session giving attendees the opportunity to shape the evening according to their interests and issues.
Steel is vice chairman and chief strategy officer of GPY&R inPerth. He is also author of “Perfect Pitch – The Art of Selling Ideasand Winning New Business” and “Truth, Lies and Advertising – The Art ofAccount Planning”.
Steel started his marketing career at a London advertising agency Boase Massimi Pollitt.
Hethen joined a US agency, now called Goodby, Silverstein & Partnersin San Francisco as the agency’s first Director of Strategic Planningworking on clients ranging from Budweiser to the Wall Street Journal.He received a David Ogilvy Gold Award for the famous got milk?campaign, and has won eleven gold Effie Awards (including a GrandEffie) from the American Marketing Association for advertisingeffectiveness. In 2002 he joined the world’s largest communicationsservices group WPP.
The Ideas Exchange will start with drinks and canapés at 6pm at the Supper Club – Level 1, 134 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst.

Smart and entertaining man. I’m sure he’ll have something to say that’s worth hearing.
This will be brilliant. Jon Steel is brilliant and behind some of the best creative work of the 90s.
I suggest creatives get along to see this, too.
