ahm health insurance launches #NotTober – a month where Aussies can stop doing stuff… for charity via Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne
93% of Aussies believe that charitable giving has become too hard. So, in a bid to make life simpler, ahm health insurance and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne have launched #NotTober.
A month where you can raise money for charity without the fuss.
No growing a beard, drinking, not drinking, or running a marathon required.
Instead just relax, take a moment for yourself, photograph it and share it on social media with the #NotTober hashtag. ahm then takes care of the rest donating $10 to the Banksia Project, a charity focused on mental wellness, for every #NotTober photo shared.
Simple.
Says Jan O’Keefe, general manager, ahm: “We get that life is a lot for many Australians and with more on their plate than ever before we understand the importance of keeping things simple so they can get some time back to enjoy life. #NotTober helps that, it’s fundraising at its absolute simplest. No sign-ups, push-ups or booze give-ups, just a simple donation for a simple hashtag.”
Says Ant Phillips, creative director, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne: “Sure running a marathon for charity is great, but what about those who want do good without the chafing? Rather than asking people to do something extraordinary, we’re asking people to do nothing out of the ordinary. And if you can manage to do that successfully, ahm will donate money to charity for you. It’s a win-win.”
The campaign is rolling out across the month of October across TV, cinema, digital, social and PR. More information available about #NotTober at www.ahm.com.au/nottober.

Are you seriously taking the piss out of charities? New low for an insurance company.
They are donating their OWN money to charity. I’m not saying it’s great work, but it works around the insight that their target audience is inherently lazy… barely no behaviour change required.
They are suggesting ‘charities’ are too hard and they pretty much asking people not to get involved with them… Shit social idea with a shit ad.
