R/GA Sydney Executive creative director Craig Brooks departs After two years in the role

CB can reveal that Craig Brooks, the multi-awarded executive creative director of R/GA Sydney, has departed the agency after two years in the role

Brooks told CB: “At this juncture in my life and career I have decided to leave R/GA. I’m excited to see if they can achieve their ambitions and I wish them the best of fortunes.

“In the immediacy I’ll be spending some much needed time with my family, but the creative itch will no doubt bring me back to the industry in some shape in the future.”

When contacted an R/GA spokesperson told CB: “Craig Brooks has made the decision to leave his role at R/GA Sydney to take time out and focus on his family. During his time at R/GA, Craig has been an instrumental asset to the Sydney team, leading the creative charge and being a champion for great work. While we’re sad to see him go, we wish him all the best and success for the future.

“Seamus Higgins, VP CCO APAC, has stepped in to continue driving the creative quality of the agency while our search for Brooks’ replacement is underway.”

Brooks joined R/GA Sydney in April 2018, working alongside then co-ECD, Rob Chalmers.

At TBWA\Sydney Brooks clocked up a decade delivering celebrated integrated, media-neutral thinking for brands including Apple, Foxtel, Tourism New Zealand, David Jones, NRMA & M.J. Bale. Along the way he rose from art director to deputy ECD, collected numerous Cannes Lions, Spikes, One Show, D&AD and AWARD awards, and helped steer TBWA\ to 18 Agency of the Year titles.
