Ship my pants? Yes.
Up Ship Creek? Not so much.
that performance, casting and dialogue is some of the worst in ages
give me my jokes back
Guys, this is pretty much a straight lift from the US Kmart spot. You know it. We know it. But you know what? Joe punter doesn’t know it, and he’ll probably ship his pants when he sees this. Honestly, it made me smile. But I know it’s a ripoff idea, so it was a smile laced with sadness. Laced, motherfuckers.
Clumsy, contrived and plagiarised.
In the Kmart spot, the gag comes directly out of the offer.
And you want to watch the Kmart spot again and again.
This? Not so much.
Use of ‘not so much’ – bit too much.
Let’s repeat the same joke five times!
@ Monsieur Cynique.
Thanks for the insightful critique.
You really miss being a CD don’t you?
Admit it.
@Question for Old CD Guy:
Thank you for your question.
My instinct has always been to cut through the fluff.
Every creative person should be able to do that, but a surprising number are seduced by extraneous factors such as art direction or production values.
You shouldn’t have to be a CD to have the ability to see the strengths and weaknesses of work put in front of you.
It helps to have many decades of experience, but even coming through the ranks I was always very forthcoming with my views, even when they weren’t sought or required!
Long before the internet…
This blog is here to encourage comment, so I comment.
I really want to praise great work, and do so whenever I see it.
Unfortunately great work is as rare as rocking horse shit.
No credits is always a good sign of how happy everyone is with this.
If you’re not going to own it then why PR it?
back to the drawing board. What a complete rip off of the Kmart spot. Have to agree with ‘oh wow’ terrible on all fronts.
Tacky and crass – just a shoddy effort and use of kids makes it a bit dark
Shit Creek, just doesn’t do it for us, so much so that we will not renew our car insurance with AAMI.
An ad with some humour and the knives of the keyboard ninjas are out and flashing in the dark.Such heroes!
tacky, crass and decidedly unfunny. if aami actually paid good money for this piece of ship i want my premiums back which they used to pay for it. i have just cancelled my insurance policy with them and suggest others do the same. otherwise how will these idiots ever learn? not very insurancey? not even professional, why trust them?
Abysmal ad that continues the trend of ‘ship’ AAMI commercials.
Was an AAMI customer but chose to switch all our policies just because of AAMI’s constant irritating advertisements.
Very sad ad…if meant to shock…or ‘be okay’…it is a sad statement on our ‘illiterate crass’ population who accept scum language masquerading as the norm. How low can we take prime time language?! Very sad.
Captive audience; prime time TV swearing without swearing only normalizes poor behavior.
What a poor ad.
AAMI and Suncorp. They give me the ships
