Golden bakery brand appoints Archibald / Williams as its new creative agency of record
Golden has appointed Archibald / Williams to grow the beloved Golden bakery brand. There was no incumbent on the business and the agency won the account following a three-way competitive pitch.
Archibald / Williams will undertake Golden’s strategic and creative work including advertising, across its range of breakfast and snacking products.
Golden crumpets first launched in 1959 and generations of Australians have enjoyed Golden products, whether for breakfast, lunch or even a snack. The range includes Golden Crumpets, Golden Muffin Bites, Golden Pikelets and Golden Pancakes.
Golden products are manufactured and delivered fresh every day by Tip Top Bakery, part of George Weston Foods, one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers.
Says Barry Clare, marketing manager at Golden: “With renewed investment in the Golden brand we’re really excited to work with Archibald / Williams to help the brand grow and maintain its iconic status.”
Says Bram Williams, Archibald / Williams: “Golden is an Australian classic and this is a great opportunity to spark up the latent love for the brand.”

Having not had a crumpet for some months, I purchased some this morning. They looked dark, thinner than they ever used to be, and cooked slightly burnt around the edges. GONE is the joy of sinking one’s teeth into this gorgeous thick ‘honeycomb’ breakfast soft delight, which made me VERY DISAPPOINTED.
NOW, WHO STILL MAKES THE OLD FASHIONED CRUMPET?
I would certainly purchase them.
Thank you, I’m sorry for complaining, but REALLY!
