Matt Furlong joins UM in associate strategy director role following new business wins

Matt Furlong 3.jpgMedia communications agency UM is entering into a new round of executive hires following record new business wins, with Matt Furlong (left) appointed associate strategy director at the Sydney agency.

 

UM CEO Mat Baxter said the agency was searching for about 20 additional people for its Sydney operations as a result of the wins.

 

Furlong joins from Naked Sydney where he was a communications strategist working mostly on Microsoft and Goodman Fielder. Last year he was listed in the trade media as one the top 30 Under 30 industry talents to watch.

At UM, his key accounts will be Meat and Livestock Australia, Defence Force Recruitment and MasterCard.

 

Stefan Burford, UM’s national chief strategy officer, said Furlong represented the type of person the agency was bringing into its teams.

Says Burford: “Matt is a real talent with a proven track record in creative strategic thinking. He is a great fit for the growing team here.”

 

UM expects to announce new senior hires in the short and medium term.
