A total of 16 Grand Prix awards were handed out at the AdStars 2013 awards presentation that brought to a conclusion this year’s Festival. This was the 6th year the AdStars International Advertising Festival has been held in Busan, Korea, and the increased growth and prestige of the Festival, now that it is staged at the huge BEXCO exhibition centre, was clearly evident for all who attended to see.
This year, Ad Stars set a new record with 12,079 submitted entries – 2,868 domestic entries from Korea and 9,211 overseas entries. In addition to the 16 Grand Prix awards, 42 Gold, 59 Silver and 72 Bronze metals were handed out.
Pre judging and shortlisting of entries was completed by 189 judges from 46 countries. The finalists consisting of 1,704 entries were then judged in Busan by a final jury lead by jury presidents – Jacques Seguela (pictured right), vice president & chief creative officer, Havas Worldwide; Morihiro Harano, creative director & founder, Mori Inc, Tokyo; Tomas Mok EVP McCann Erickson China; David Guerrero, chairman & chief creative officer, BBDO Guerrero Philippines; and Rafe Ring, global business director, eYeka Singapore.
