Racist? Only if you consider thriftiness to be a negative attribute. I’m pretty sure Thrifty aren’t trying to generate any anti Scottish sentiment and I’m relatively confident they consider thriftiness to be a quality worth celebrating.
I agree with sweaty sock. They would never dream of having, say a Rabbi in the place of the old Scottish bloke. For all thriftiness being a commendable attribute it is really a way of saying Scots are tight.
Personally I don’t get precious about these stereotypes, but there are double standards.
Haha, I had this ad stuck in my head for a while.
Most of you are probably either scottish or advertisers yourselves. As your average tv watching pleb, I find this to be a pretty good ad.

Good branding, could be a hit, but an equal chance of become annoying
If Scottish people weren’t white would they have used such an ethnic stereotype? Will they be doing a Jewish one next? Didn’t think so. L- a-z-y.
so chunky, you can carve it along with a whole bunch of other outdated stereotypes
Urrgh!
SO Baaaaaaaad.
HA!
Awful.
Just what we need. More racism.
@Jock Is it racist if you show a black winning a running race?

Poor advert. Let’s overdo the accents and the stereotype. As a Scotsman I find this offensive.
