With a strong visual focus and his background in design, Sage creates work that connects directly with the viewer with the aim of triggering emotion.
Says Sage: “People are moved to do things on an emotional level and justify their decisions to themselves on a rational level afterwards. Good advertising is all about creating or communicating a feeling or desire.”
Sage shows particular interest in the changing world of directing TVC’s. His solid understanding of the digital landscape definitely gives him an edge.
Says Sage: “The process of how people hear about stuff and engage with brands is completely different to how it was a few years ago. This evolution of how brands communicate and how people interact is really exciting to me and my understanding of this through my experience working in digital puts me in a good position to effectively communicate relatable stories to people.”
Sage is about to head to Mexico and LA to film with MTV and is in post production on his latest music video for Melbourne based band Strange Talk.
