Virgin Mobile in launch partnership with Spotify
Today Virgin Mobile has announced a launch partnership with the much-anticipated digital music service, Spotify.
The partnership at launch will see Virgin Mobile offering Spotify’s users specially designed guides explaining how to use the service, so that newbies can get the most out of their music experience.
Says Virgin Mobile’s marketing director, David Scribner: “We are proud to announce Virgin Mobile has partnered with Spotify as the exclusive Telco partner. With our strong music heritage and passion for stellar tunes, we think it’s only fair that our customers have access to great music wherever they are.
“We feel there is a really natural fit between the two brands, in fact if Virgin Mobile were to create its own music streaming service, it would pretty much look like Spotify. The launch of Spotify brings with it exciting opportunities for the music industry and consumers alike, and we look forward to the successes Spotify’s presence in the music-streaming landscape will deliver”, he said.
Says Kate Vale, Spotify managing director of Australia and New Zealand: “It’s fantastic to have a perfectly aligned brand like Virgin Mobile partnering with Spotify in Australia. True to form they have created some fun, quirky content that reflects our shared love of music, sharing and socialising.”
Virgin Mobile’s Guide to Spotify is a simple tutorial that explains the basic features and gets people started on their Spotify journey. There will be branded advertising pointing to the guide via display, billboard and audio ads all with creative featuring Robin Da Hood.
The guide provides users with information on: how to search (and ye shall find); how to discover new music (to freshen up thy listening habits); how to create and put together your own playlist; how to share music (to impress thy peeps); discover apps (expand thy music horizons); how to find an artist’s bio (become a trivia master); and how to use Spotify on your mobile (take thy tunes wherever you go).
