Nissan LEAF offers ‘A World Without Petrol’ with interactive outdoor exhibition in both Sydney and Melbourne via Whybin\TBWA Group Melbourne
Whybin\TBWA Group Melbourne has created an interactive outdoor exhibition to launch the first purpose-built 100% electric car in Australia, the Nissan LEAF.
The huge exhibit features over 40 real petrol bowsers artfully reinterpreted into useful everyday items to express the fact that with the Nissan LEAF, bowsers are no longer needed. The LEAF runs purely on electricity meaning the home is now the everyday filling station.
The recycled petrol bowsers have been turned into functioning pieces of interactive art including a fish tank, coffee machine, giant water fountain, grandfather clock and a bird feeder that features a bowser covered in birdseed.
A PR campaign to support the activation has been developed by Whybin\TBWA Group company, Eleven PR. The exhibition was opened with an exclusive screening of the critically acclaimed US documentary ‘Revenge Of The Electric Car’ for VIP guests prior to a preview of the exhibition.
Whybin\TBWA\Group Melbourne ECD Paul Reardon says: “The Nissan LEAF is a pretty incredible car. It’s innovative, fun, and makes you think about petrol completely differently. We needed a campaign to match.”
The public can also participate to win their favourite piece and some remaining bowsers will then be auctioned off
The exhibition is now open at Sydney Custom’s House forecourt and will travel to Melbourne on May 22, where it will be on display at Federation Square.

First thought
Such a good product deserves a tv ad, there’s one on you tube with several million hits. They should run that at the same time. I like the bowsers but.
