Bestads Top 6 of the Week reviewed by Scott Bell, creative director, Droga5, New York
Favourite: Central Beheer Achmea Insurance: Birdie.
Runner Up: Bawbag’s: John’s Happy Ending.
This category was a tough one as swords, old people and ball jokes are all right up my alley. But you have to appreciate how once again DDB Amsterdam has made a fun and engaging spot for Centraal Beheer Achmea Insurance. Well done. Also, well done to Bawbag’s for casting the perfect set of giant wrinkly testicles.
Favourite: DB Export Dry: The Wine List.
Runner Up: Hertz.
The Wine List ad for DB Export Dry could have come off a bit gimmicky but the great copy made for an enjoyable and all too relatable read. I’ve ordered the second cheapest bottle of wine a thousand times. And it always tastes nice and old.Â
Favourite: Nokia: Around the World.
Runner Up: Water is Life.
I’m not exactly sure how Nokia: Around the World counts as outdoor, but damn that battery lasts a long time. I guess technically the guy did go outside some, so whatever, it counts.
Favourite: Mercedes Benz: Tweet Fleet.
Runner Up: Carlton Draught: Draught Pick App.
I don’t use twitter much but I would if I had a Mercedes that tweeted for me. Which I don’t. Tweet Fleet is an amazingly simple idea but the real beauty of it is that it wasn’t asking people to do anything. Awesome.
