MADC welcomes new Committee, appoints Grey executive CD Nigel Dawson president
The MADC has welcomed four new Committee members and named Nigel Dawson, (left), executive creative director at Grey, as the 2012 Club president.
Joining the MADC Committee this year are Ant Simmons from GPY&R, Simon Bagnasco from Clemenger BBDO, Andrew Woodhead from Leo Burnett and Nick McDonald from A3 Recruitment.
Farewelled from the Committee were Dave Klein, who has served as president for the last 12 months and vice president prior to that, long-standing Committee member Stuart Crossett, Mark Coad and Jim Antonopoulos.
In saying a few words of farewell, Klein (left) said he thought the Club was in the best shape its been in years: “The last three years have seen some incredible structural changes behind the scenes. We’ve dragged the Club out of the red, instituted rigourous accounting systems and overhauled the awards process. A lot of this work will never be seen by our members. But getting the housekeeping done has allowed us to refocus on what is important – being a Club for the Melbourne creative fraternity, helping nurture young talent and putting on the best award show in the country,” he said.
Says Dawson (pictured top): “We’ve got a tremendous new committee, primed to make the Club play an even greater part in the lives of everybody in Melbourne advertising and design.”
The 2012 MADC Committee comprises:
Nigel Dawson (Grey) – President
Tracy Proposch (Tracy Proposch Inc) – Vice President
Paul Baxter (Risk Sound)

Helene Nicol (MrSmith)
Damian Kelly (DiDonato)

Stellar line up. Expecting big things this year.
Well done Nige – make a difference, mate.
Great Stuff.
If you intend to put some of what you said at the last MADC awards into action, the Melbourne Ad community are in a better place already.
