A cheeky web film created to make noise for LG’s powerful Kompressor Plus vacuum.
It’s proving to do so with combined views online of over three million since launching in late December.
The web film was created by George Patterson Y&R Sydney and Plaza Films.

How the hell did they convince a client like LG to buy that. I have to say, IMPRESSIVE!
I like it. Nice one Steve.
That’s awesome! Well done my Sydney bothers. Cracker.
(Yes, I work at GPYR.)

Best ad ive seen for a while.. How the hell did the client go for this though???? Another Scam???? F king funny
I am fat and this is phat!
To expensive for a scam I think. In this financial climate no one can get TV scam done.
very funny for a vacuum ad, must have been a tough sell
Love it ! Well done to everyone. By far the best Ad we have seen.
Perfect example of when you need to get the casting right !!!!

Banging job Stevie (& Team), hopefully the metal you’ve always worked so bloody hard for.
Great stuff. Brave client.
This is an award winning spot
The casting is brilliant well done Toni Higginbotham Casting you deserve another Pencil!!!!!!
Obviously none of you have ever bought a vacuum cleaner. That or you all work at GPY&R. If it has better suction than a Dyson then there’s nothing in that ad that proves it. In fact, demonstrating the point with trickery makes me think it’s a bunch of baloney. Do you really think Dyson would be where they are today if they made ads like that? Or do think that talking about their cyclonic action and bagless design was what did it for them? Here’s a question for you – why does it have better suction than a Dyson? Years ago there was a ground breaking ad for a brand of glass saucepan where to demonstrate its heat resistance they used one to melt its aluminium competitor.
See it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1HXqh8YadA
I can’t even begin to imagine how you guys would have done it.
And one more thing, taking the piss out of a fat woman, how do you think women will respond to it?
that’s really good, very jealous
love a good suck
@ unconvinced
Although I have always loved that saucepan ad, I very much doubt that it would have been passed around virally punters.
The ads that get passed around virally are always offensive to someone somewhere.
Is everyone joking? This ad is awful! Maybe it’s an Australian thing…
Agree it’s a great idea and fab talent, etc. and well done to all involved. But what a shame about the post work. You must have sat there in the edit suite thinking the post was letting the idea down. Hope there’s accolades in it for you – the idea and execution certainly is deserving.
typical advertising fawning over a great idea which won’t sell more hoovers. Ogilvy says no.
Bit of an easy joke but the punters will still laugh. Good to see something half decent making it to the box.
I’m sure the media spend helped bring the views up.
Isn’t that how advertising works?
The comments to this sound like they all came from the agency staff before the onslaught of negative ones came up. Won’t hide that it’s rather badly done.
I find it somewhat over cooked. Computer graphics are shoddy and very cheap looking (nutty professor) style. No way would a womans body flex and bounce like that. Realism could have salvaged it.
It seems to have that ‘annoying media people’ skit to it. maybe client or agency choice? Just leaves me thinking, missed opp’ for something potentially funny, which it isn’t. Everything grates. Er, what’s the product? Dyson?

I agree with DD.
How anyone thought this would appeal to female vacuum cleaner buyers is beyond me. Strategically, this is simply wrong.
It would be refreshing for Patts to focus less on PR and more on the work.
Not sure if this really is a great idea. Reminds me a lot of that episode of the Simpsons when Bart vacuums grandpa’s face back to make him look young. Still a lot of fun though.
I thought it was a bit of fun – it’s intentions are for viral, so the fact that its not perfect or polished is fine by me.
erm.. this is a photoshoot situation, thus, get a good looking model. More flaws in this pack of pump. Disappoints me when people think its great, and it doesn’t come close to even the first 2 frames of Guinness surfers, for example.
I sometimes wonder whether standards are slipping that much, that anything goes… no wonder almost all advertising seems to suck D.
