Brisbane Bandits are back bigger and badder in new ‘asteroid’ TVC via Jim Strachan Advertising
The Australian Baseball League is in the middle of it’s second full season and Tristan Houghton of Cartel Films, along with Brisbane creatives Jim Strachan and Jesse Richardson, have teamed up to create an epic spot for the local team, the Bandits. Shot over a three week period in late 2011, the spot features some of Brisbane’s most iconic landmarks being “altered” by unknown projectiles courtesy of Cutting Edge Post.
“The ad is first class. The Bandits brand could not have been showcased in a more creative way,” said Bandits general manager Paul Gonzalez.
The spot first appeared on Fox Sports during the ABL All-Star game, 21 December 2011 and will run throughout the rest of the season.

Best thing out of Brisbane since ‘Foot Locker Art Prize’
Nice one.
First ice hockey, now the bandits. If you manage to help bring back the Bullets you’ll make my year.
Good stuff Mr Strachan!
Great work, Tristan!
Nice one. Good to see the ABL spending some money and getting a decent spot out.
Go Sox.
Knocked it out of the park, Jim! Like the agency name, too. Old school.
Yeah, great name. Very creative.
Haha. Thanks. Tate & McMahon was already taken!
Cheers, Jim
