Online banking can be a challenge for many, but not with the Commonwealth Bank’s online banking platform NetBank.
To promote this message, The White Agency placed a loveable senior couple and their lounge room in a local shopping mall to demonstrate NetBank’s simple functionality to passers by. Together Bob and Doreen show just how easy online banking can be for absolutely anyone.

what is this?
i get what they are trying to do, but….
if its not a tvc, its an online video right?
do people who cant figure out online banking look for encouragement and instruction videos online?
using old people to prove that online banking’s easy relies on actually using old people using online banking. the fact this is acted (and badly at that) instantly ruins the idea
This would have been perfect back in around 2000, when online banking launched.
The White Agency took an arrow to the knee.
The acting in this is bad – really, really bad. If you are going to do a fake guerilla thing, you need good – really good – actors. And I agree with does not compute – what the hell is this supposed to be?
And when you cast something that’s meant to be real, don’t use people we’ve seen in ads for the last 20 years.
(Arrow to the knee…brilliant)
Two of the people are fairly well exposed actors which ruins any credibility.
The White Agency are doing all sorts of great work for CBA. Seems like a brilliant client agency relationship judging by the risks being taken. Setting a great standard all round by the looks of it.
risks as in dodgy idea and execution?
This sort of idea needs to be done with charm to form part of a conversation – which should continue in an accessible channel with drivers for engagement. If the target audience don’t trust online banking this stunt will definitely not change their minds, or even reach enough of them to provoke a dialogue. They’re old, not stupid.
