Ant Shannon departs Grey Melbourne

antshannon.pngCB Exclusive – CB can reveal that Ant Shannon, executive creative director at Grey Group, which covers Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, has resigned from the agency.

In Melbourne Shannon worked closely with creative director Nigel Dawson who remains at Grey. Jay Furby is the ECD of JayGrey Sydney.

Paul Gardner, group chairman of the Grey Group confirmed Shannon has left the agency, saying that plans for the agency’s creative leadership would be revealed next week.

“Grey Melbourne has gone through a lot of changes under Luke Waldren, who is the managing partner and we are looking forward to the next generation of Grey to continue the success the agency has been enjoying in Melbourne,” says Gardner.

Shannon joined Grey Melbourne in 2005 and sits on Grey’s Global Council. During his six years at the agency he has worked on award winning ads for the TAC, John West and WorkSafe.

Shannon carved out a reputation as a top ECD at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne where he worked from 1997-2003. Under his guidance, the agency became highly awarded and was ranked as the top ten agencies worldwide by the Gunn Report.

After leaving Clemenger in 2003, Shannon set up his own business, Creative Outlet, with fashion retailer Portmans as a foundation client.
