Avant Card reward outstanding creatives through 2011 Postcard of the Year Awards
Avant Card Freecard Media is recognising and rewarding art in advertising at the 2011 Postcard of the Year Awards. May 19 holds a special place in the hearts of clients and creative teams across Australia as they hold their breath waiting to see if their creative cuts through to take out the coveted title and valuable prize.
Now in its fourth year, the awards were created to promote and inspire creativity in advertising. Esteemed personalities from the media industry guest judge Avant Card campaigns each month to select the Postcard of the Month winner and entrant into the race for the grand prize. Winners are selected on creative, insight and strategy.
The Postcard of the Year Awards is a gala event with the first placewinner receiving a trophy prize and a huge $20,000 of advertising withAvant Card. Previous winners include the Sydney Harbour ForeshoreAuthority, realestate.com.au and Animals Australia.

“The awards were inspired by the International Freecard Awards that runevery 3 or 4 years. After Avant Card won a major international prize, Idecided it was about time to introduce a home grown event to encouragebetter creative submissions and to award those clients who understandthis relatively new form of media. Even though we have been establishedfor nearly 20 years, we are always looking for ways to keep in front ofthe eyes of our audiences, the minds of the creative directors &the hearts of our clients”.

The 2011 awards will be held on May 19 from 7pm at the ArtHouse Hotelin the stunning Dome Bar. With entertainment by Paul Capsis and musicspun by the acclaimed DJ John Ferris, it will be a night to remember.The guest list includes the advertising industry’s finest: nominees(advertisers and their creative teams), guest judges, Avant Cardclients and media.
With 11 of the 12 nominees already announced, Avant Card clients withApril campaigns are eagerly awaiting to hear if they have made it intothe running to receive the Postcard of the Year and the sought after$20,000 of advertising.
