Wunderman’s Matt Farrugia appointed digital director of Y&R Brands Melbourne
Matt Farrugia has been named Digital Director of Y&R Brands, Melbourne.The new role extends his current position as senior account director at Wundermanto include GPY&R Melbourne where he will take over as digital director withresponsibilities for Defence Force Recruiting and the agency’s growing digitaloperations.
GPY&R is currently recruiting for its digital division, with five new hires to beannounced shortly, adding to the more than 25-strong Y&R team.
Y&R Brands CEO Russel Howcroft said that Farrugia would play a key role across theoperations of both businesses.”He has a proven track record in the digital space on FMCG, tourism, alcohol andretail clients, and will be a great asset to the team.”
Farrugia joined Wunderman mid-2010 from SapientNitro where as executive producer andhead of digital he worked on the acclaimed ‘Best Job in the World’ campaign. Healso worked at SBS leading numerous cross platform strategies and projectsacross the network’s news, drama, documentary and sport divisions.

8:05 – agreed, why do agencies still separate digital while attempting to be ‘integrated’. agencies talk about being ‘integrated’, but it’s actually an adjustment of a business model as required by the market rather than being ‘integrated’ with new job titles.
It’s people like Matt that aren’t just integrated, but champion new thinking to meet business objectives, regardless of the technology or channel.
