Artist converts billboard in Taylor Square for Golden Circle’s 12 week out-of-home campaign
An artist is painting directly onto one of Australia’s most iconic billboards over five days as part of an out-of-home campaign to advertise Golden Circle’s ‘Original Black Label Juice’.
The artist, Georgie Wilson, is being suspended approximately 15 metres off the ground on a swingstage (like a window washer) from oOh!’s Taylor Square billboard atop the Oxford Hotel in Darlinghurst to create a unique, hand-crafted version of the Original Juice billboards currently appearing in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Painting started on Saturday and will be completed this Wednesday infront of thousands of commuters, shoppers and pedestrians. OperationsManager at oOh!media, John Purcell said, “Using a billboard as a blankcanvas to create artwork is a great way to bring the Original BlackLabel Juice campaign to life and create public interest. “The publicwill be intrigued over the 5 days, as the painting is graduallyrevealed.”
This live artwork will complete Golden Circle’s twelve week out-of-homeRoadside and Retail campaign across the eastern seaboard.

Just to clarify, the original artwork is by Stuart Mclachlan: http://www.campaignbrief.com/2010/11/original-juice-outdoor-big-bol.html
Pfft. What a waste of time. This petty stunt has nothing whatsoever to do with the idea… actually. Is there an idea?????
Wow. Art. I think that’s cool. I also like that new Boags commercial.
‘We’re creating an Original’…
Works on the word play, not the product promise. Still nice enough.
8:45pm — yeah me too. A really really lot. (btw, not many people know that Jackson Pollock didn’t paint that way just because he was drunk. He actually meant it.)
“What you got?”
“Fuck all. You?”
“Nothing. Absolutely nothing.”

“Why don’t we just commission some artist to, like, paint the billboard for us?”
“Yeah okay ………. why’s that again?”
“You know. Originals. Art is, like, original.”
“Sweet. And we can do it over fives days. Like a gradual reveal. PR it. Facebook it.”
“Sweet.”
Wasn’t this done in a far more relevant way by Absolut a few years ago?
That’s my name, Bill Bored.

I thought this was awesome! Walked to work today and it really caught my eye. Granted, I didn’t see the ‘reveal’ but the finished art work is fab!
