Jenny Craig, managing director, Amy Smith (pictured), said that the move was strategic and designed to strengthen ties with the global Y&R Group.  Smith was formerly the CEO of JWT Australia based in Melbourne before she joined Jenny Craig in 2008: “Y&R Brands has presented us a great package of skills and resources to further drive Jenny Craig’s recent impressive growth. We believe a fully integrated marcoms offer will deliver even better results for our business,” said Smith.

Jenny Craig operates 110 weight loss and nutrition centres across Australia and New Zealand. The company was founded in Australia in 1983.

Y&R Brands CEO, Russel Howcroft, said Jenny Craig was a business with enormous potential: “Increasing numbers of Australians have issues with their weight and require assistance in improving their diet and nutrition. I believe the Y&R Brands team will add tremendous value to the Jenny Craig offer, and we look forward to working with Amy and her team.”
