Nunn Adds game to Lazy Larry Lizard App

LeapinGraham Nunn, occasional copywriter – he wrote the Financial Review tv campaign that’s currently on air – and now full-time app developer, has added a game to his best selling children’s iPad book, Lazy Larry Lizard. The game, called ‘Leapin’ Larry’ features the animated character from the book and is similarly designed for 2 – 6 year old early readers.

The upgrade, version 1.2, includes the game at no extra cost. It can also be downloaded by past purchasers of the app for free via iTunes.

“I wanted to make the app better value but the story is what it is, so the best way to add more Larry was to create a game with him it,” says Nunn. “I asked Hylton Mowday to compose some original music for it that wouldn’t drive parents nuts and got Kim Neale, who illustrated Lazy Larry, to make it look like the book”.

Since the latest version of Lazy Larry Lizard went on sale Thursday night, there have been over 3,000 downloads, though the majority of those have been free upgrades. “They’ve been all over the place,” says Nunn. “Norway, Switzerland, China, but of course, the bulk come from Australia and the US. Part of the fun with apps is tracking the sales and seeing where in the world you’re selling. I mean, Norway!?”

Nunn’s next book, Ten Giggly Gorillas, is in beta testing now and he hopes to have it on the Apps Store a couple of weeks before Christmas.
