Lighthouse Annual Art Auction set for Thursday Dec 2 at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art
Bid on a diverse range of artwork and enjoy mingling with other art lovers while supporting homeless young people in Victoria.
On Thursday 2 Dec 2010, a diverse range of works donated by established and emerging artists and designers will be auctioned at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in Melbourne, with all proceeds going to Lighthouse Foundation. Auctioneer Martin Farrah, from Menzies Art Brands will entertain and excite the crowd for a second year running, hosting the evening’s live auction.
Lighthouse provides homeless young people with long-term, safe, stable family-style accommodation, combined with intensive, tailored support programs so that they can help themselves to health, learn to relate to others and rebuild their lives, developing the skills they will need to take back their rightful place in our community. This successful Model of Care is lived out in nine Lighthouse homes across Melbourne.
Lighthouse CEO Kane Bowden is confident that this year’s Art Auction will be a huge success: “Last year we had hundreds of guests, bidding on amazing pieces that were generously donated from around Australia. This year, with the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art on board, we are hoping to increase attendance numbers which will help us continue to run our programs to support traumatised young people during 2011.”
Lighthouse invites anyone with an interest in art or anyone keen to support Victorian’s homeless young people to attend.
