Craig Davis_web.JPGDavid Nobay.jpgDave+King+PR.jpgReflecting Australasia’s status as a major centre of creative excellence in the world, three of the 25 D&AD Foremen this year are from our region, third only to the UK and USA: Craig Davis (far left), co-chairman and chief creative officer of Mojo Australia/NZ is heading the Integrated & Earned Media jury; David ‘Nobby’ Nobay (centre), creative chairman of Droga5 Australia is heading the Outdoor jury; and Dave King (above right), creative director of M&C Saatch New Zealand is heading the Direct jury. Juries will be announced in late November.

To launch the D&AD Awards 2011, D&AD President Sanky has a question for every single purveyor of original thought in the world. On 3 November 2010 at 12.00pm GMT he will attempt to ask this question in as many languages as humanly possible. Join Sanky at www.youtube.com/dandad

The awards recognise the best work in advertising and design from around the world with its legendary Yellow and Black Pencils. Last year Australian advertising history was made at the D&AD Awards, with a record two Black Pencils and seven Yellow Pencils awarded to down under shops – which placed Australian third on the Pencil tally just behind the United States – with two Black Pencils and nine Yellow Pencils – and the UK – with 10 Yellow Pencils (but no Black).

Eligible entries will be accepted until Monday 31 January 2011. Work entered before 29 November 2010 will receive a 10% discount.  Judging takes place from 11 to 14 April 2011 in London, with the winners set to be announced in May.
