Sun-Herald to launch Australia’s first 3D section
This Sunday 23 May The Sun-Herald will become the first major Australian newspaper to publish dedicated sections in 3D.
The 3D sections will appear as a 4-page lift out inside The Sun-Herald as well as a 4-page cover wrap on the outside of the paper. The focus of the sections is the upcoming State of Origin series, which will also be broadcast in 3D.
The 3D sections will be heavily promoted in The Sydney Morning Herald this Friday and Saturday as well as throughout The Sun-Herald and in newsagents on Sunday.
3D glasses will be made available to all readers when they purchase a copy of The Sun-Herald. Readers will be encouraged to keep their glasses for more 3D State of Origin pages in The Sydney Morning Herald on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

The biggest problem with 3D is the glasses. Why does everybody suddenly want to look like Steve Dodds?
When the fuck will 3D die like it did in the 80s.
Oh for the love of god.
3d is so overrated and pointless.
I saw this coming.
(see what I did there?)
why is everybody suddenly jumping on the 3D band wagon? I don’t see a point other than some added novelty value… for god sakes! It’s news! Not a storybook for a 5 year old. You’d look like the biggest loser flipping out your 3D glasses and reading your paper on a bus.
Add a scratch’n’sniff panel and rock out with 4D
So over this 3D revival and it hasn’t even really started yet.
LAAAAAME. News in 3D? I’m sorry, it’s not going to make it any more exciting.
3D or not 3D? That is the question.
3D? Who cares? 5D is the new 4D.

Dear 1.14PM.
According to b&t, I am the 9th coolest person in advertising.
I work with Nikki Stammers, who is the 6th coolest.
Our combined coolness quotient makes Whybins far and away the coolest agency in Australia.
I am also increasingly three dimensional.
Thus it is no surprise that I am such an inspiration.
Thanks for noticing.
Um, top gear magazine was in 3D like 2 months ago. And I’m sure they didn’t claim they were the first.
smh – get your hand off it. Please.
You sound like a bunch of old people. 3D is here to stay, best get on that wagon or get left behind.
Awesome! Can’t wait to see this.
Steve, was that an unintentional numerical spoonerism?
Zoo magazine has been doing 3D issues for years. Unless I can see Krystal Forscutt’s massive mammories in glorious 3D, I’m not interested.
Sun Herald & Avatar – joined at the hip. Give us a break!
The only way this will work is if they bring back Page 3 girls.
Is this an Onion piece?
funniest. comments. ever
I see dead people, just sayin’.
Who is this Steve Dodds that keeps putting his two cents in? Hey. Calm down mate.
Steve Dodds is a self proclaimed legend.
He thinks we care what he has to say.
He is also delusional.
Doddsy is a legend to talk with, great creative and great to work with. In my silly, useless uneducated opinion he wrote one of the best lines in history for NRMA batteries.
He was also wearing great glasses before Roy Orbison and invented the cat.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is entitled to that. Just use your real name next time.
