After 8 years Scott Lambert farewells DraftFCB Melbourne – Matt Garbutt promoted to CD
After eight years as creative director of DRAFTFCB, Melbourne, Scott Lambert (pictured top) has decided that it is time for something new.
As a result, the agency has promoted senior copywriter Mat Garbutt (pictured bottom) to creative director.
Lambert told CB: “I was given a wonderful opportunity eight years ago to take the creative reins at FCB. In that time, I have had a great time working with some fabulous people, created lifetime friendships and produced work that I am extremely proud of.”
Interestingly, his career so far has unfolded in blocks of eight years (prior to arriving in Melbourne, Scott had worked for eight years in Singapore).
“Maybe it is the eight-year itch, but something is telling me that it is time to once again leap into the unknown. The prospect of a new challenge, a new network, and possibly a new country, excites me. By leaving in this way, I can pursue opportunities openly.”
“I would like to thank Andrew Scott, for the opportunity he gave Mark Ringer and I eight years ago, Christine Barnes for her wonderful support and friendship and Greg Eichmann for his understanding”.
Lambert will be phasing out his CD role over the coming weeks.

A very grown-up, gracious and professional way to exit. Good luck Scott.
