Yellow Treehouse wins Platinum Best of Show at 2009 Digital Media Awards in Shanghai
Theymay have built an old-fashioned tree house out of redwood but ColensoBBDO, Auckland and Aim Proximity cleaned up at the 2009 Digital MediaAwards in Shanghai last night – Yellow Pages’ ‘Treehouse’ won best ofshow – the Platinum Award – and two gold awards.
Agency of theYear went to BBDO Asia-Pacific and Digital Brand of the Year wasIntel-Dell. New Zealand picked up a total of seven awards – two silverand two bronze as well as the Yellow Treehouse golds and Platinum. Thetwo silvers were won by Aim Proximity Auckland for The Warehouse’s ‘Getthe Secret’ and to Tribal DDB/Rapp for ANZ BANK’s ‘Getting U Thru’.
Australiawon eight awards – four silver and four bronze. Two silvers wereawarded to Euro RSCG Australia for Sony’s ‘Quantum Code’ campaign whileone silver went to dgm Australia & OMD for St. George Bank and theother to ZenithOptimedia’s Kit Kat Chunky Cookies & Cream launchfor Nestle Australia.
Chairman of Judges, Chris Baylis, ECD of Tribal DDB Amsterdam, saysthat for clients the world over the emphasis has shifted from boughtmedia to earned media: “Alongside this, the social media revolution hastaken another turn with the rise of Twitter. For me, any innovative useof earned media and emerging digital communities by agencies for brandsis doing the right thing with digital. Of course, this will always beas part of a more traditional media marketing mix. Getting brands likedand talked about is an effective way to build market share.”
Australian and New Zealand judges included Adam Good, executivedirector of digital innovation, Clemenger BBDO Australasia; LeeParkinson, managing partner, New Dialogue New Zealand; Ashley Ringrose,creative partner/founder, SOAP Creative and Joshua Rowe, digitalcreative group head, Mark.
