Seek.com.au is Australia’s number one job site. Their new campaignreinforces this leadership position by suggesting that if a jobposition is out there, no matter how weird, whacky or wonderful, itwill be available on seek.com.au. As part of the campaign, Leo BurnettMelbourne created a series of documentary-style television spots thatfollowed the daily working lives of individuals with strangeoccupations such as a Cannon Inspector and Trolley Mechanic.

Yeah I saw these, and while I giggled I did think it was a bit wrong strategically.
Given (I’d imagine) the primary audience is job advertisers (while appealing to job seekers), it kind of gives the impression that you’ll find any whack job through seek.
If you’re looking for work, you’ll find some weird dudes advertising on there.
Given my experience in this industry, it’s probably a product truth.
Still, nice spots guys, enjoyed watching them.
Sticking to the Steve Rogers theme, still cant beat his original Seek launch
Seen these on TV. Sensational casting. Made me wonder if they were actually real. And made me chuckle too. Good work
Never put your head in a cannon. Trust me on this.
Not sure if it was the intention, but I think this campaign says we’ll find you a shit job, especially if you’re a no-hoper or a weirdo. Niche at best.
Pfff… why would that be the intention?? That’s an idiotic comment, at best. Also calling this niche, as a ‘payout’, makes no sense. Especially when the point of the campaign’s execution was to focus on a niche market of employees.
It’s pretty straightforward – SEEK claims to list a veritable array of jobs, even ones you didn’t know existed, which means the one you’re looking for is probably in there as well.
This all said I wanted the ads to be funnier (the Torana line in the Cannon spot was ok).
what sort of an idiot would put his head in a cannon?
My older brother told me it was ok. We don’t talk a lot anymore.
I have never put my head into cannon, but I was killed by one.
Does that count?
Thank you Leo’s planner at 10:28 for pointing out my stupidity. I don’t know what I was thinking.
Leo’s planner? Too clumsy for a planner’s comments, although …
Is there some way to block planners comments?
Yes, it would be censorship, but it would make this blog far less … planned.
mic boom can be seen in the Trolley spot…
Hey 10.40, the sound boom was planned to be in shot.
Are you a Planner?
4:46 wow.
You should put that as a ‘world first’ in your press release.
