Merger creates 3d animation house Red Cartel
Sydney-based Red Cartel, a collaborative merger between two of Sydney’s longest-standing 3d animation houses, Twitch Studios and ProMotion Studios, has opened for business.
The four founding partners are well known to their respective industries. Kim Neale (nee:Graham) as a commercial artist with a wealth of experience in storyboards and illustration for advertising. Matt Dignam with over 10 years experience as Creative Director in 3d animation production. James Neale as Producer and Landon Curry as Managing Director, each with over 10 years experience in production and financial management of animated projects for a multitude of industries.
Says Neale: “In early 2008, we decided to attend the Annecy Animation festival in France
to investigate the possibility of introducing our own ideas to Europeanand US animation markets as Red Cartel. After the success of that tripand the fantastic working relationship between all the people involved,we decided to complete the merger of our studios to solidify thesuccess of the Red Cartel brand and strengthen our position in theglobal 3d animation production market. Our collective strengths put RedCartel at the forefront of 3d animation production by placing anemphasis on innovation and quality, backed by a well-tested
production capacity and proven work methodology.”
Red Cartel currently consists of 4 founding partners and 9 full timeartists, producing animated and illustrated 3d artwork for a widerange of media platforms including television, film, game, mobile andinternet, in both interactive and linear formats.
