Are we really the target market? I think I’ll leave that one for the stay-at-home Mums.

I agree with your sentiments entirely.
Unfortunately, though, in this self-promotion-obsessed industry of ours, yes, we are the target market.
Shouldn’t he be wearing black?
What a fantastic way to promote audiences to love advertising and get excited about what we do. We need to change audiences behaviour and get them looking forward to the ad break rather than turning off.

Here’s a suggestion. Do good ads.
Belgo – the non-stop pr machine
A glorious PR opportunity. Other agencies will be furious.
Stay at home mums have more interesting things to do than watch the channel 9 Today show…..No wonder you’re in Advertising…..
As a stay at home mum I’m too busy shagging the gardener to watch the Today show.
Hi 5.25,
The dig was not directed at the stay-at-home Mums. But I’d be interested to know, if they’re not watching it, then who is?
Seems Rob is quite good friends with the media. Why isn’t Lynchy there?
fatten the site for sale baby
I cringe with embarrassment each time Karl and Lisa introduce Rob with what they think is an amusing attempt to correctly pronounce his surname.
Rob is an articulate representative of an industry that demands attention to detail and he delivers his segment with the good grace of a professional who must be thinking he’s sitting with two morons who cannot get it right, week after week after week. He’s far too polite to coach them on camera.
Karl is a man with a surname that surely causes a struggle for most, so he should know better and pay attention. But, most people don’t and unless your name is Smith, Jones, Brown, Bush or Rice, you haven’t a chance just as is evident with the same arrogance these two hosts displayed in their inability to correctly pronounce the name of a major sponsor (Hyundai…HE wears UNdies every DAY).
I guess that’s the bottom line…if they cannot pronounce the name of a sponsor, why sould they pay courtesty to Rob Bel..ge..i..oo..vay…oh…you know who I mean!
Maybe if Karl and Lisa had to go out and sell the show to prospective sponsors they would learn the basics.
Name withheld for fear of losing out on vital publicity for forthcoming film script option to Hollywood…besides, if I printed it, you’d never be able to pronounce it but I bet they get it right on Oscar night!
You were going really well, 12:29 until you tripped at the last hurdle and ended up sounding like a tosser.
Nice little plug at the end ‘bestadsontv.com, they get annoyed if I don’t say that’
Who is they?

It’s a wonderful little world to play in, the blog, isn’t it.
I wonder, what did you feel when you pressed ‘submit?’
Was it truth, 12.29?
Why hasn’t the VB stuff by D5 been on the blog yet?
So where are the D5 ads?
The VB stuff’s probably bobbins anyway.
Aug 14, in the Australian:
“The main VB brand work will not be unveiled until October, but the advertising industry has been waiting to see where Droga will take the brand under the guidance of Australian creative chairman David “Nobby” Nobay.”
I’m sure 10:25 & 10:35 are aware of the word ‘seeders’?
And I’m sure from personal experience they’re aware how much they’re reviled on blogs?
I don’t care how many awards Rob’s Telstra ad campaign has won. I still do not get how having Telstra Broadband at home could help the father answer the Great Wall of China question while driving the Kombi. However, the Bird’s Eye mum, who luckily has a hands-free car phone, not only knows her teenage son, she acts immediately on her worst fears. Which agency did that ad? It deserves a prize and I am not even a mum.
4:56 & Dro5a boys. Seeding on the blog. Discuss.
