Space villains strike back in Telstra’s new network security campaign with Steve Buscemi via Bear Meets Eagle On Fire with +61

After his last cyber attack ended in spectacular failure, intergalactic space emperor Steve Buscemi, along with his band of evil aliens, are back in the latest campaign from Bear Meets Eagle On Fire with +61. And this time they’ve upped their game. Unfortunately for them so has Telstra, and the villains’ evil plans are foiled yet again.

With Australians reporting more than $2 billion in scam losses last year, cyber-crime remains a significant concern. This latest campaign highlights the security of Telstra’s network, which blocks millions of scam calls and texts every month.

Directed by Randy Krallman of SMUGGLER, the campaign consists of several individual narratives in various formats, which will roll out across TV, digital, social, cinema and in Telstra stores.

Alita McMenamin, Telstra Head of Brand and Marketing Communications, said: “Great villains always come back for a sequel. The second chapter of this campaign takes what Australians loved about the original and raises the stakes, using humour and storytelling to bring an important message to life: helping Australians stay safer online.”

Micah Walker, Chief Creative Officer of BMEOF, said: “I’m really proud of this. I think we’ve managed to take some learnings from last time and make something even better. Massive cheers to the whole village it took to bring this all to life.”
