Love, Doves, Levitation and Cantopop: FVSE Scores Uber’s Latest
Uber Hong Kong’s latest campaign, ‘Keep Doing What You Do’, spins Gareth T’s hit ‘Your Ride Is Here’ into a gloriously melodramatic love story, complete with missed timing, romantic yearning and a little airborne surrealism.
The film sees Gareth T on the verge of a heartfelt confession, only for his Uber to arrive just a touch too efficiently, bringing the moment to an abrupt and gently crushing end. From there, the spot leans into the heightened emotion and dreamlike visual language of classic Hong Kong cinema.
Multi-hyphenate music and sound agency FVSE came onboard to handle the additional music production and rearrangement of the track, reshaping the song around the film’s dramatic beats while preserving its original character. We also took care of the sound design and final mix, pushing the romance, comedy and cinematic flourishes that little bit further.
The result: soaring birds, levitating Cantopop stars, heartbreak and impeccable ride-hailing efficiency.
