The Media Store retains RMIT University media account

Following a competitive, closed pitch, Australian independent media agency, The Media Store, has once again been named the RMIT University’s preferred media agency, extending its five-year partnership with the world-leading educational institution.

Earlier this year, RMIT put its media account out to market, running a rigorous, multi-stage process and inviting several agencies, including The Media Store, to pitch, before reconfirming it as its retained partner. The Media Store was first appointed to the RMIT account in 2021, winning the business following a competitive pitch process.

Under its remit, The Media Store will continue to manage media strategy, planning and buying for RMIT University, supporting the university’s Australian and international growth plans.

The agency will also build on its role in promoting RMIT’s brand, acquisition and partnership strategies, as it advances its efforts to become one of the world’s most progressive education brands.

RMIT is a global university of technology, design and enterprise. Based in Melbourne, RMIT is a world leader in architecture, art and design, business and management, communication and media studies, and engineering. Founded in 1887, RMIT has grown into one of Australia’s largest universities, with international campuses in Vietnam, along with partnerships across Asia and Europe. It was ranked 125th globally in the 2026 QS World University Rankings, while several subjects, including architecture, art and design, and engineering-related disciplines, have also been ranked among the world’s best.

RMIT Acting Global Marketing Director, Sarah Morley, says: “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with The Media Store. Over the past five years, The Media Store team has consistently delivered for our brand, becoming a trusted partner in both the growth and promotion of our operations. The Media Store’s performance expertise, collaborative approach, and strategic thinking have been critical in broadening our footprint in both the Australian and international markets and helping us reach the university’s diverse audiences. The Media Store has become a valued extension of our team – we look forward to building on what we’ve achieved together, exploring new opportunities and areas for innovation.”

The Media Store Chief Operating Officer, Jacquie Alley, says: “The opportunity to continue partnering with RMIT is a testament to the strong relationship we’ve built. Over the past five years, we’ve worked collaboratively towards RMIT’s ambitious growth and student acquisition goals, with a shared commitment to achieving meaningful results.

“Retaining the RMIT University account after nearly half a decade is a significant achievement – it demonstrates the value delivered through our partnership, and the confidence that RMIT University has in our approach and our people. We’re excited to build on the momentum we’ve established and continue to deliver innovative, audience-led strategies that help drive RMIT’s vision to become a world-leading education brand.”

The Media Store is one of Australia’s leading independent media agencies, with deep expertise across media strategy, planning, sponsorship, partnership integration, research and insights. Its client list includes Rugby World Cup Experiences, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation, Hino and ENGIE.

The RMIT University appointment is effective immediately.
