TBWA Australia appoints former BBDO New York head of brand experience Ben Nilsen as CSO

After a decade in New York, Ben Nilsen has returned to Australia to take on the role of Chief Strategy Officer at TBWA\Australia, succeeding Michael Hogg.

Nilsen joins TBWA\Australia from BBDO New York, where he was Head of Brand Experience. Before that, he spent two years at FCB New York in the same position, following six and a half years at Droga5, where he helped build the agency’s global media practice. He began his career in Australia at MediaCom and UM before making the move to New York.

The appointment also reunites Nilsen with TBWA\Australia Managing Director Blake Crosbie, who he previously worked with at Droga5 New York.

Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Nilsen said he was “thrilled” to be joining TBWA\Australia as CSO and looking forward to making “some amazing work” with the Sydney team and reuniting with Crosbie.

CB has reached out to TBWA for comment.
