Nic Molyneux departs Thinkerbell for Associate Creative Director role at McCann New York

CB Exclusive – Award-winning creative Nic Molyneux has departed Thinkerbell after more than three years to join McCann New York as Associate Creative Director.

 

A highly awarded copywriter, Molyneux has built his career at leading agencies including whiteGREY, DDB, CHEP and Thinkerbell, creating work for some of Australia’s best-known brands including VEGEMITE, Blundstone and Repco.

His industry accolades include Cannes Lions and D&AD Pencils, while he has also been recognised as a B&T 30 Under 30, D&AD Next Creative and AWARD School Top Tutor. In 2024, he was ranked Australia’s number one copywriter in the D&AD Rankings.

A proud Gunditjmara man, Molyneux has been actively involved in reconciliation initiatives, helping establish the AWARD School Indigenous Scholarship, mentoring emerging Indigenous creatives and leading the communications campaign for the Yoorrook Justice Commission’s historic truth-telling process in Victoria.

Outside advertising, Molyneux is completing his first novel and, with his family, restoring a derelict church featured in Season 8 of Restoration Australia.

Now based in New York, Molyneux has commenced his new role at McCann New York, where he’s settling into both the city and its coffee culture.
