Engine and Bravehearts selected for Global Act Responsible Showcase at Cannes Lions

Engine Group’s Grooming Hides Behind Harmless campaign for Bravehearts has been selected for inclusion in the ACT Responsible Exhibition at the 2026 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Presented within the LIONS Impact Hub, the ACT Responsible Exhibition showcases creative work from around the world that raises awareness of important social and environmental issues and inspires positive change.

The Queensland-created campaign will be exhibited alongside purpose-led work from leading agencies, brands and non-profit organisations from across the globe.

Created for Bravehearts, Grooming Hides Behind Harmless challenged one of the most dangerous misconceptions surrounding child sexual abuse: that perpetrators are usually strangers. In reality, most children are harmed by someone they know and trust.

The campaign encouraged Australians to better understand the tactics offenders use to build trust, manipulate families and groom children, helping shine a light on a critical but often misunderstood issue.

Mike Fritz, Creative Director, said the inclusion was recognition of the campaign’s ongoing impact: “This campaign was built to make Australians uncomfortable in the right way. The fact that it’s now doing that on an international stage says everything about how universal the issue is, and how little it gets talked about.”

The campaign generated a 310% increase in calls to the Bravehearts information and support line, a 349% increase in parent guide downloads, a 671% increase in page views for ‘What Is Grooming?’, and more than 226 million media impressions.

The ACT Responsible Exhibition runs during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and celebrates work that uses the power of creativity to drive awareness, action and positive change.

Public and online voting opens today 19th of June.
