Batiste partners with pop trio Blusher to give bad hair a good “Shh” in new campaign via Bounce
CB Exclusive – Batiste is helping Australians silence bad hair days with a new campaign created by independent creative agency Bounce, featuring Melbourne indie-pop trio Blusher.
Bad hair days have a way of taking over. They derail plans, mess with confidence and leave you feeling anything but your best. Batiste sprays this head-on, showing how a quick “Shh” can put you back in control.
The proposition is simple Give Bad Hair A Good Shh, as the campaign rides along with Blusher throughout a whirlwind day and night, from post gig sweat, to tour van antics and the journey to the afterparty. As the dry shampoo is passed between the trio, Batiste is the trusted sidekick that keeps them moving, no matter what the day throws at them.
The campaign features an original track written by Bounce and recorded by Blusher, soundtracking the moments when bad hair threatens to interrupt the fun.
The band’s manager Jamie-Rose Fowler: “This Batiste x Blusher campaign has been one of those perfectly organic brand collaborations that we try to dream up; a product that an artist genuinely uses and loves, and the ability to combine music and creativity to elevate both the artist and the product! We all couldn’t be happier with the end result on what we can see becoming a long lived partnership.”
Says Lucy Du, Senior Brand Manager, Batiste: “When we discovered that Blusher were already genuine fans of the brand, the collaboration became authentic. Bounce brought the creativity and Blusher brought the energy to perfectly capture what Batiste is all about: helping people get on with their day, no matter what their hair is doing.”
Says Joel Chapman, Founder and Creative Director, at Bounce: “We weren’t interested in making another product ad. We wanted to dramatise the moment where bad hair starts acting like an unwanted life coach, telling you to stay home and play it safe. Batiste is the opposite of that… a quick fix that gets you back out there. Partnering with Blusher allowed us to bring that consumer benefit to life through music, fun and a campaign that feels more like entertainment than advertising.”
The campaign is now live across Batiste’s social and digital channels.
