Independent media agency Magic strengthens its team by six following significant client growth
Global independent media and growth agency Magic has announced several new senior staff across a range of disciplines, following strong client growth over the past 12 months.
The new hires include the return of its former Head of Performance, Charles Kurth (pictured above), along with the appointment of four new account service staff and a Social Media Co-ordinator.
The new hires come as Magic celebrates 14% year-on-year business growth, including signing several major new clients, including El Jannah, Zamels, iPantry and Vitality Brands.
Award-winning digital marketer Charles Kurth returns to Magic as its Head of Performance, following an in-house role at retailer Quad Lock as Performance Marketer.
Under his new remit, Kurth will lead Magic’s performance media product, overseeing performance channel and optimisation frameworks and the continued development of Magic’s measurement-led approach to driving commercial outcomes for clients.
Former Vouch Global Performance Head, Chris Lane comes to Magic as an Account Director, bringing extensive experience in digital performance marketing, analytics and strategy for ecommerce, retail, non-profit and hospitality clients, including Macmillan Cancer Support and UNICEF.
Paid search and social media specialist Shamila Naleer joins Magic as an Account Manager, coming to the agency from KingKong where she was a Paid Search Specialist. Prior to this, she was a Campaign Manager at W360 Group.
Thomas Proe-Carter and Alishma Ismaili join Magic as Account Executives, specialising in performance.
Proe-Carter will focus on paid social and search, bringing experience in supporting and managing campaigns across Meta and TikTok to Magic, having worked with ecommerce brands to improve customer acquisition, campaign performance, funnel optimisation and conversion rates across the full customer lifecycle, while Ismaili steps into a Performance Executive role, following marketing and social media management stints at 360 Dental Marketing, Your Social and MotorOne CX.
Swinburne University student Stephanie Walsh joins Magic in a new Social Media Co-Ordinator role. Currently completing Design and Business (Marketing) degrees, Walsh joins Magic from Victorian brewery, JKB Brewing, where she was the Content & Marketing Manager.

Each new hire brings meaningful expertise and energy to the team, further strengthening our capabilities and positioning us strongly for the future.”
Commenting on his appointment, Kurth says: “This is a homecoming for me. I’m thrilled to return to Magic at such an exciting time for the business, where I can continue to harness data and best-in-class performance to drive new business and client opportunities.”
