Anthologie partners with iLA to launch NowNext Wellbeing App for midlife Australians
NowNext is a new, free wellbeing app developed by Independent Living Assessment (iLA) to support Australians aged 45–65 to build small, sustainable habits that fit into real life. Now live nationally, the app responds to growing recognition that midlife is a critical window for early intervention, where everyday behaviours can meaningfully influence long-term wellbeing, independence and quality of life.
Anthologie Perth worked alongside iLA as strategic and design partner, leading product strategy, user research, behaviour-led experience design, brand and UX and UI design. Technology partner Zyrous supported delivery through its existing Concord health platform, enabling a faster path to launch while maintaining flexibility for future iteration.
The project was shaped by extensive research and validation with people aged 45–65, revealing a consistent intention–action gap. While many participants understood the importance of wellbeing, they struggled to translate awareness into sustained action amid competing life pressures. Traditional wellbeing apps were often perceived as unrealistic, judgemental, or disconnected from everyday experience.
Rather than prescribing a single path, NowNext was designed to offer both guided and self-directed journeys. The app supports users to start small, adjust goals over time, and build momentum without pressure, using evidence-informed habits, gentle prompts and flexible tracking.
“Collaborating with Anthologie and Zyrous has been an amazing experience. Their expertise in UI/UX, digital solutions, and design-led thinking resulted in a mobile app that has far exceeded our expectations. Beyond capability, their genuine passion for our purpose and vision was clear, and it showed in the outcomes,” said Tyler Daries, Product Lead, Independent Living Association.
Anthologie Managing Director Amy Sutton, said: “The project reflected a broader shift in how digital health and wellbeing tools need to be designed. Behaviour change doesn’t happen through willpower alone. It happens when the next step feels doable. Our role was to translate lived experience and behavioural evidence into a practical, low-pressure experience that fits into real life.”
For Anthologie, the partnership demonstrates our approach to working in complex, health and purpose-led environments, where credibility, sensitivity and delivery pragmatism are critical.
“We’re increasingly seeing clients ask for help bridging the gap between research, policy intent and real-world use. NowNext is a strong example of what can happen when strategy, lived experience and delivery realities are aligned,” added Sutton.
NowNext is free to download and available across Australia on Apple and Google Play.
